Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What ingredients do you use in your products?
A: Our Magic Bum and original Body Magic oils contain Organic Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Calendula Oil (calendula officinalis in sweet almond oil), Organic Jojoba Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Pure Vitamin E, and German Chamomile Extract. Our Body Magic EC contains all of the oils mentioned above but in a completely different formulation. It also adds lanolin to help lock in the moisture. Our Kiss This! lip balm contains the original Body Magic oil blend with organic yellow beeswax. Our Magic Bum Cloth Wipes Solution Concentrate contains Magic Bum oil, additional organic jojoba oil and grapefruit seed extract. Skeeter Salve contains our Body Magic oil with lavender essential oil, catnip oil and citronella oil.
Q: Why do you suggest the Magic Bum without lavender?
A: A small percentage of babies appear to be extremely sensitive to lavender essential oil. Our original formulation contained lavender EO, however, once we learned about the potential for a negative reaction (redness, swelling, pain) we began making a lavender-free version. Unless you know that the baby does not have a lavender sensitivity, we highly recommend Magic Bum without lavender.
Q: Is Magic Bum cloth diaper safe?
A: Yes! Magic Bum is 100% cloth diaper safe.
Q: Why don't you have the option for fragrances in Magic Bum like other products on the market?
A: We are minimalists. We believe that you should only put something on a baby that is absolutely necessary. Babies are super sensitive and we don't want to risk adding ingredients that may cause irritation or allergic reactions. Fragrances, even naturally-derived ones, have no therapeutic effect and we don't offer them for that reason.
Q: If you don't believe in fragrances, why do you offer Magic Bum with lavender?
A: The lavender is not considered a "fragrance" as it is not a fragrance oil, it is a pure essential oil. Lavender EO is known to have a a natural anti-bacterial effect which is why it was originally part of the formulation.
